On the occasion of the birthday of the British Queen Elizabeth II, the Prime Minister of Montenegro, Milo Đukanović, sent a congratulatory message to the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, David Cameron.
"Montenegro's cooperation with the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland has a special significance for us in the context of the commitment to membership in European and Euro-Atlantic structures. The support of your Government in this way is valuable for Montenegro and the Western Balkans region, because it is our joint strategic goal. For us, the conclusion of the NATO Summit in Cardiff was additionally encouraging, which opens up realistic hope that Montenegro will receive an invitation for membership by the end of the year. This has a wider significance for regional and European security," Đukanović pointed out in his congratulatory message.
"We greatly appreciate your concrete, diverse help in the negotiation process with the EU, especially in the area of the rule of law. All of this together is a stimulus for an even greater commitment to reforms, which is the formula for progress on the European and Euro-Atlantic path. Also, for economic progress and democratic development of the Montenegrin society, according to European standards", stated in Đukanović's congratulatory message.
