Đukanović: Ministers will bear personal responsibility if they do not fulfill their obligations

Prime Minister Milo Đukanović said that the ministers will bear personal responsibility if the commitments from the program of accession to the European Union and the work program of the Government are not fully implemented, according to the announcement from the session of the Government of Montenegro.

He set the deadline as the end of the third quarter.

The reason for this is the "obvious delay in the implementation of program tasks, despite the precise responsibilities and assumed obligations of the relevant ministers", according to the announcement.

The government today adopted the Information on the analysis of the impact of incentives and tax breaks in tourism on the Montenegrin economy and public finances.

"In the discussion, it was assessed that the tourism offer in Montenegro is insufficient to achieve the goals of a high-quality tourist destination and accelerated economic growth, and the key challenge is to use the potential for investments in tourism, which, if realized, would have a multiplier effect on the rest of the economy. To that end, the Government has also adopted conclusions that mandate the relevant departments to propose the necessary changes to legal solutions and concrete measures that will encourage investments in the tourism economy," the announcement reads.

The government also postponed the conclusion regarding the report on the implementation of the Plan for Internal Reorganization of the Public Sector in 2014 in order, as stated, to take a deeper look at the issue and define concrete solutions for further rationalization in this area.
