The Prime Minister of Montenegro, Milo Đukanović, congratulated the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, David Cameron, on the occasion of his re-election to that responsible position.
"I use the opportunity to repeat my gratitude to your Government and your country for the continuous support and assistance to the democratic and overall development of Montenegro. The conclusion of the NATO Summit in Cardiff on opening a focused and intensified dialogue with Montenegro and making a decision at the ministerial level by the end of this year on the invitation for membership in the Alliance was particularly encouraging for us. We especially appreciate the concrete help through the PELT program and other projects that contribute to the interoperability of the army, defense reforms and the fulfillment of numerous obligations in the process of Euro-Atlantic integration", Đukanović pointed out.
Prime Minister Đukanović also referred to the exceptional cooperation in the negotiation process between Montenegro and the EU, such as the large project IPA - EUROL for the rule of law, ProAccession, which deals with building technical skills and formal communication with EU structures, and the Communication Strategy that we implement together with British partners. .
Đukanović also pointed out the project for the improvement of English language teaching, which we should implement with the British Council and which we consider extremely important for the European future of Montenegro.
"For Montenegro, as well as for the Western Balkan region as a whole, it is fatefully important that such an important country as the United Kingdom recognizes the importance of its integration into the EU and NATO. We are convinced that the invitation to Montenegro for membership in NATO will strengthen the stability of the region and encourage progressive forces in all our countries", it was stated in Đukanović's congratulatory message to the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, David Cameron.
Đukanović expressed readiness for contacts at all levels and strengthening of bilateral cooperation between two friendly countries in mutual interest.
