"Almost all economic indicators show that, if something is not done urgently, the trend of mass emigration from Bijeli Polje will continue with a growth rate in the coming period," warned Kljajević.

The Democratic People's Party (DNP) asks the Government to urgently take adequate economic measures to create preconditions for a better quality of life for the citizens of the north, who, as stated, are forced to leave their family homes in search of existence.

An official of that party, Jelena Kljajević, who is also a member of the Democratic Front (DF) in the Bjeloplje parliament, believes that the current emigration of the population from Bjelo Polje is the final product of the two-and-a-half-decade rule of the Democratic Party of Socialists in that city.

"The startling data on the mass departure of the population to the countries of Western Europe best show how much the current government took care of the existence of its citizens," Kljajević said in the announcement.

As she stated, young people, who were left without any perspective in their city, are forced to leave their homes and go as asylum seekers to other countries, in order to try to provide their families with living conditions worthy of a human being, which, she added, unfortunately, in their city and the state were not able to afford it.

According to Kljajević, it is sad that the citizens of Bijelo Polje and the north, in addition to all, above all, agricultural, tourist, forest and hydropower potential, have to go to areas of Western Europe that are isolated from other cities and that do not have the prerequisites for organizing a quality life.

In order to find a solution, the clubs of councilors of the DF, the Socialist People's Party and the Bosniak Party signed and submitted an initiative to hold an extraordinary session of the Bijelo Polje Municipality Assembly on the topic of mass emigration of the population from the north of Montenegro.

"Almost all economic indicators show that, if something is not done urgently, the trend of mass emigration from Bijelo Polje will continue with a growth rate in the coming period," warned Kljajević.

That trend, she added, is a consequence of the systematic destruction of the economy, for which the ruling group is the main culprit.

"With the wrong economic and social policy aimed at personal enrichment, the current government was the creator of the collapse of the living standard of the population, which is therefore now on the very edge of the social abyss," stated Kljajević.

She believes that investments in agriculture and tourism must be started in order to create the conditions for a living from one's own work and the survival of the profession in this area through the creation of new jobs.

"DNP asks the Government of Montenegro to urgently take adequate economic measures to create a prelude to a better quality of life for the citizens of the north of our country, who are forced to leave their family homes in search of existence", said Kljajević.

Otherwise, as she added, there will be a complete exodus of the inhabitants of this part of the country because their only alternative is to move out.
