Hiding behind the European Union (EU) is a product of concealing the fact that the incident in Kumanovo took place in an area under the strong influence of NATO, said the president of the Committee for European Integration, Slaven Radunović.
Prime Minister Milo Đukanović said that the stability mechanisms of the Balkans are unreliable and must be strengthened, because problems in that region have occurred whenever Europe has allowed it to fall to the margins of its attention.
"Hiding behind the EU is hypocritical when it comes to security challenges, and it is the product of hiding the fact that the incident took place in an area under the strong influence of NATO and its member armies," Radunović said.
Asked to comment on Đukanović's statements regarding the situation in the Balkans and the events in Macedonia, he recalled KFOR and the American Bondsteel base in Kosovo and Metohija, from where KLA terrorists entered Macedonia.
"We should also remind you of the fact that Albania is a member of NATO, and the Government of Nikola Gruevski is a big supporter of Atlantic integration. This is proof that NATO is no guarantor of peace, if mafiocratic regimes are in power in the states", said Radunović to the MINA agency.
According to him, the lack of political will for the necessary reforms and the introduction of the rule of law, both in the Government of Đukanović and in the Government of Gruevski, will be the main reason if this part of the Balkans falls out of the focus of the EU.
"Djukanovic is again trying to shift the responsibility to someone else. I hope that the leaders of the EU will be more careful in their statements from now on, taking into account who they are dealing with", Radunović said.
He stated that Đukanović and Gruevski simultaneously recognized the independent state of Kosovo on October 10, 2008.
"They admitted it in order to buy the favor of some important international addresses and thus, at least for a while, divert attention from their mafiocratic regimes," said Radunović.
As he stated, they consciously recognized for the state a society which in terms of political, administrative and security did not have the capacity to organize even a small municipality in an acceptable way.
"With this recognition, they helped legalize a terrorist organization, popularly called the "Kosovo Liberation Army", led by local protectors of heroin routes," Radunović assessed.
As he explained, they knew that their recognition, "and not that of Afghanistan or Paraguay", was of crucial importance for Hashim Thaci and Ramush Haradinaj in their efforts to get a stamp, so that they no longer had to wait for darkness, in order to deal with "business ".
Radunović pointed out that with the example of Kumanov, we had the opportunity to make sure that Kosovo is still a base for the development of terrorism, in addition to the fact that it is the safest route for smuggling drugs and white slaves.
