The Committee for the Political System, Judiciary and Administration proposed to the Assembly to adopt amendments to the Law on the Identity Card, which will also use that document as a health card.

The Director General of the Directorate for Civil Status and Personal Documents in the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP), Milanka Baković, clarified that the new ID card will not be a driver's license because the law provides for the revocation of the driver's license in case of certain violations.

Baković, answering the question of the President of the Committee Željko Aprcović why the new Law on Identity Cards will be applied one year from the date of entry into force, said that the implementation of the law was delayed due to the necessary procurement of new IT technology and machines.

She could not specify how much it will cost to issue new personal documents, clarifying that detailed information is available to colleagues from the MUP's IT sector.

The Committee proposed to the Assembly to adopt the Draft Law on Detective Activities, which foresees numerous innovations in relation to the existing legal solution.

Director General of the Directorate for Strategic and Development Affairs in the MUP, Safet Korać, explained that the novelty is that detective work can be performed by a company, another legal entity or an entrepreneur, as well as that approval and permission are issued by the Police Directorate for a period of seven years.

"The detective must start working within one year of obtaining the permit and must formulate his work in the Activity Plan, which must list everything related to the work on the specific case. This is subject to the control and supervision of the MUP", said Korac.

As stated by Korać, the detective will be obliged to report to the Police Directorate and the Prosecutor's Office if, through his work, he learns that a certain criminal offense or some other type of misdemeanor has been committed.
