The President of the URA Civic Movement, Dritan Abazović, will not attend the session of the Collegium of the President of the Parliament of Montenegro, where the formation of the Working Group will be discussed.
Parliament Speaker Ivan Brajović announced a session of the Collegium for Thursday, which will be attended by leaders of parliamentary parties that do not have clubs, in addition to the presidents of parliamentary clubs. This means that Abazović, Demos president Miodrag Lekić, Vladimir Joković of the Socialist People's Party (SNP) and United Montenegro, whose leader Goran Danilović recently resigned, will be invited to the session.
"We will not participate in the current discussions on the formation of the Working Group. We submitted to the MPs the Plan for comprehensive electoral and other reforms, which was supported by the officials of the European Union, and we expect them to accept it", said the URA movement.
The DPS plan is anti-European and anti-state, it is exclusively a party act, with which the DPS tries to cheat the reports and recommendations of the OSCE and the European Union and its institutions. We will not allow them to do that," claims Bogdanović
In June, the leaders of the Democrats and the URA movement submitted a plan to Brajović requesting the formation of an ad hoc Working Group, but the Collegium discussed the proposal of the plan offered by the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS). Among other things, this proposal foresees that the Working Group will be headed by a representative of the DPS, as well as that there will be seven representatives of the ruling coalition and the opposition in that parliamentary working body. It is also foreseen that decisions are made by consensus, as well as that representatives of the civil sector and the professional public may be consulted during the amendment of electoral laws.
The Democrats and the URA rejected that proposal, stating that it was a forgery that provided for an upgrade and not a reform of the electoral legislation, while the representatives of the Democratic Front (DF), the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and the Social Democrats (SD) submitted proposals for changing the DPS plan. . Although Abazović and Aleksa Bečić's party said that they will only participate in the Working Group that will be formed according to their plan, the President of the Assembly said that the working body will function without the representatives of the Democrats and the URA movement. He told "Pobjeda" that electoral reforms "require a willingness to compromise and a political vision in the interest of achieving results."
Secretary General of the Democrats Boris Bogdanović called on the rest of the opposition not to participate in the Working Group that would be formed according to the DPS plan.
"Our plan is the only serious story at the moment, everything else is the tricks of political gamblers that we saw through back in 2014, when with the support of DF there were changes to the electoral legislation that provided DPS with an unattainable starting advantage over all other political subjects. Therefore, we will never accept the proposal offered by DPS, because it is not logical for any opposition political entity to accept proposals for creating an even fair and honest election environment by those who are record holders and champions of election theft, manipulation and abuse. Therefore, the DPS plan is anti-European and anti-state, it is exclusively a party act, with which the DPS tries to cheat the reports and recommendations of the OSCE and the European Union and its institutions. We won't allow them to do that, because we don't have backup partners," Bogdanović said.
Bogdanović: Brussels wants to work according to our plan
Bogdanović said that the Democrats will demand that every item of their plan be an integral part of the decision on the establishment of an ad hoc parliamentary working body.
"I am sure that we will succeed in this, because European political entities have always pursued anti-Europeans and hunters in the dark." Such a policy of deception and fraud, which (Milo) Đukanović and Brajović are forcing, will no longer pass. Brajović can choose Montenegro in Europe or Montenegro in the opposite direction from the direction of the Union", said Bogdanović.
