Mayor Slavoljub Stijepović intends to sell the expensive Range Rover jeep, which he took from the head of the Protection Service, Radomir Pješčić.
The money from the sale of the vehicle will be used for the implementation of projects for which there is currently not enough money in the city budget, as reported to "Vijesta" from the PG bureau.
"The Range Rover Jeep, which was purchased in 2011 through leasing from the "Hypo Alpe Adria" bank for 71.692 euros, until it is sold, will be "equally used by all the services and authorities of the Capital City in accordance with the needs", it was announced from of the capital city.
The Capital City dismissed speculations that Stijepović took the vehicle to use it for his own needs, stating that he already uses another official car and that the city administration's intention is to use all the resources of the Capital City rationally.
"This is also the case with the car you are interested in. When the formal legal prerequisites are created, based on the fact that the car was purchased on a lease, the Capital City will sell the car by public invitation, and use the obtained funds to implement projects for which there are currently insufficient funds foreseen in the budget of the capital city", it was announced from the PG bureau.
Pješčić, as he explained to journalists in 3.0, bought the Range Rover Sport HSE 6 TDV2011 because the Protection Service needed it for "all off-road operations". The purchase was condemned by representatives of two trade unions operating within the Protection Service, stating that the money could have been used for the purchase of necessary work equipment.
After taking office as mayor, Stijepović used an official vehicle of the brand "Audi A6", registration number PG - CG 022, which is on the list of cars belonging to the Ministry of Education and which he had at his disposal while he was the minister of that department.

The Secretariat for Local Self-Government of the Capital City announced a vacancy for the head of the Public Relations Bureau department, after Mayor Stijepović assigned the current head, Sanja Popović, to a lower-ranking position.
Popović, after refusing to use the jotted spelling that Stijepović tried to impose on her, was assigned to the position of Senior Advisor II in the Office of the Mayor.
She told "Vijesti" that the Appeals Commission of the Capital City rejected her appeal against the decision on deployment, noting that "she did not appreciate the appeal allegations related to the discriminatory character of the mayor's actions, because she is not authorized to do so."
As she said, the defender of human rights and freedoms will make a statement on the complaint she filed due to the discriminatory treatment of Stijepović. The Constitutional Court, as she stated, should issue a statement regarding the initiative to assess the constitutionality and legality of the Rulebook on Systematization by which Stijepović changed the conditions of the workplace so that she could not fulfill them, in a way that was prescribed exclusively by the Faculty of Political Sciences as a mandatory condition. .
"I had a choice - either to do as someone tells me, contrary to my beliefs, and thus keep a quality workplace, or to act as I see fit, in accordance with the right given to me by the law, and suffer the consequences of the revenge that I knew about that it will follow. I chose the latter and I am proud of it, just as I am proud of everything I did in that workplace while I was able to perform work tasks," said Popović.
