Since 2013, the Liberal Party (LP) has been advocating that mothers with three or more children and at least 15 years of service have the right to financial benefits, and supports amendments to the Law on Social and Child Protection, proposed by Socialist People's Party MP Aleksandar Damjanović. The amendments stipulate that working women who give birth to three or more children and parents who care for children with special needs have the right to financial benefits.
It is also foreseen that an employed woman who gives birth to three or more children would have the right to a lifetime monthly allowance of 70 percent of the average net salary in Montenegro, earned in the year preceding the one when that right was earned. LP, as they announced, is pleased by the fact that the ideas and concrete initiatives of that party are gaining support from more and more political subjects, in the ruling coalition and in the opposition parties. "That's why we look with pleasure at the proposed changes to the Law announced by Damjanović, which refers to social benefits for mothers with three or more children and at least 15 years of service," says the LP's statement.
Liberals, as they remind us, have been advocating social benefits for mothers with three or more children and at least 2013 years of service since 15. The LP claims that during that period they promoted these ideas through several actions on the ground and in communication with citizens, presenting the essence of the national pension project, i.e. financial compensation for mothers with three or more children. As they claim, they were often unfoundedly challenged by attempts to present that idea as something that will lead to problems in the budget and PIO fund.
"Time has shown that we were right and that our advocacy for the family and its values eventually won the support of other parliamentary parties, which will add to the importance and feasibility of this project," the statement said. LP, as they said, in the past two years, collected more than five thousand signatures of support from citizens who welcomed its idea and who, together with the liberals, believe in a state of basic social justice that will be especially sensitive to new generations and families raising three and more children.
