The first congress of the Democratic People's Party (DNP) of Milan Knežević will be held on March 21, "Vijesti" has learned.

According to announcements from the DNP, the highest officials of the other constituents of the DF will attend the Congress at which the party leadership and party bodies will be elected.

Knežević previously stated that the party will function within the DF and promote European integration. He announced that the DNP will advocate for Montenegro to remain in the Partnership for Peace, while the eventual decision to join NATO would have to be made in a referendum.

DNP was formed from Knežević's political grouping, formed after he, Predrag Bulatović and several SNP officials decided to join the DF.
