Milan Knežević, a member of the Presidency of the Democratic Front and a representative of that political group, told Portal Analitika that he will form a party called the Democratic People's Party.
"The party will be called the Democratic People's Party, and other details about registration and the founding Congress will be known in the next few days," Knežević said.
According to Analitika, the name of the party was agreed upon after extensive consultations among the party's large and well-organized base, and Knežević was proposed as the leader by all the coordination committees.
The party will continue to operate within the Democratic Front as one of its key constituents.
Knežević was previously a high-ranking official of the Socialist People's Party, which he left two years ago, together with Predrag Bulatović, because the leader of the SNP, Srđan Milić, refused to participate in the parliamentary elections with the Democratic Front.
