The Democratic Party of Socialists supported the initiative of the Bosniak Party, on the basis of which a decision was made to convene a session of the Collegium of the President of the Assembly, where the implementation of affirmative action at the local level will be discussed.
"Although a few weeks ago, the opportunity was missed to apply a provision that would enable adequate representation of representatives of minority peoples in local parliaments and adopt an umbrella electoral law, it is good that some political entities expressed their willingness to correct their political position, which will enable it to be applied the mentioned constitutional principle which is in accordance with the democratic and European acquis", the announcement states.
DPS, as announced, will contribute to the adoption of the electoral law at the session of the Collegium, in which, they hope, the amendments of the Bosniak Party will be included.
