The club of representatives of the Bosniak party BS sent an official initiative to the President of the Parliament of Montenegro, Ranko Krivokapić, to urgently convene a session of the Collegium, in order to discuss the model of affirmative action for minority national communities.
"In that way, the conditions for the adoption of the electoral law would be created. Bearing in mind that the Democratic Front has expressed full understanding and readiness to continue discussions on the model of affirmative action for minority national communities, as well as the previously confirmed readiness of the DPS and other political subjects to resolve this issue, we believe that it is necessary, as soon as possible, to convene a session of the Collegium of the President of the Assembly", stated in the statement of the head of the parliamentary club BS Almer Kalač.
As he added, the Bosniak party and other minority parties, from the very beginning, insist on an agreement on all disputed issues, through sustainable legal solutions based on the Constitution of Montenegro, in order to improve electoral legislation and build trust in the electoral process.
"BS believes that agreements regarding electoral legislation should take place exclusively in the Assembly, that is, at the Collegium as the highest political body of the President of the Assembly", it concludes.
