Adnan Muhović from the Bosniak Party was elected as the first president of the Petnjica Municipal Assembly.
At the constitutive session of the local parliament, which was held today, 15 councilors of the Democratic Party of Socialists and 4 of the Bosniak Party, who make up the coalition majority in the SO, voted for him.
In the November local elections in the newly reformed and youngest municipality in Montenegro, the Democratic Party of Socialists won, but it did not have an absolute majority to form a government on its own.
After that, the expected coalition agreement between DPS and BS was concluded, according to which the position of the president of the parliament went to the Bosniak Party, while the mayor of the municipality will subsequently be elected from the ranks of the Democratic Party of Socialists. The Parliament in Petnjica has thirty-one councilors, and the Social Democratic Party with 11 and the SNP with one councilor mandate remained in the opposition.
Muhović, who was elected as the president of the SO, is also the president of the Municipal Committee of the Bosniak Party in Petnjica.
