A group of young people from the Democratic Front (DF) protested in front of the European Union (EU) Delegation building in Podgorica, dissatisfied with the congratulations that the President of the European Commission (EC) José Manuel Barroso sent to Filip Vujanović.
With loud whistles and banners "Don't support mafia" and "Lekić new president" young people on the fence opposite the Delegation building displayed photos of election irregularities as evidence of election theft.
With the protest, they also confirmed that spontaneity is the strong point of young people, so the members of the group came forward on several occasions with a proposal to chant: "'Will we really 'Miodrag Lekić' now?"
With this act, according to the youth representative of the DF, Nikola Bajčetić, they said that they were dissatisfied with the decision of Baros to congratulate the "unconstitutional and false candidate Vujanović on his victory in the presidential elections on April 7".
Bačetić, who handed over the DF's constitutional appeal to the EU delegation, assessed that Baros's decision was bad and would contribute to the deepening of the institutional, political and constitutional crisis.
"We want the EU to make it clear that it should not support the mafia because the Constitution of Montenegro has been grossly violated and there is no European Montenegro if the people who protect that Constitution do not do so."
The message of the young DF is that the EU should look at the situation in Montenegro differently: "There are a lot of dissatisfied people here. There were protests recently, there will be more because the citizens have united and they are fed up with the regime that divided them," said Bajčetić, stating that they are not protesting against the EU.
His colleague Boris Pejović said that they expect the EU to help them protect the basic democratic postulate, which is reflected in respecting the electoral will of citizens.
"Based on the material evidence, which was seen by the domestic and international public, it is clear that this is brutal election theft, which unfortunately was confirmed within the captured state institutions," said Pejović.
DF youth will hold a similar performance today and are protesting in front of the Italian embassy regarding the congratulatory message sent to Vujanović by the country's ambassador, Vicenzo Del Monaco.
