Croatia is fully committed to providing support to Montenegro on the path to membership in the Alliance, and support will not be lacking during the EU accession process, Croatian President Ivo Josipović announced after a meeting with Montenegrin Defense Minister Milica Pejanović-Đurišić.
During her official visit to Croatia, Pejanović-Đurišić also met with Croatian Defense Minister Anto Kotromanović.
During the conversation with Josipović, Pejanović-Đurišić expressed her satisfaction with the cooperation between the two countries, stressing that Croatian experience will be extremely important for Montenegro in the period after receiving the invitation for membership in the Alliance, according to the Government announcement.
"The interlocutors agree in the belief that the next NATO summit will be the enlargement summit, and that Montenegro will receive an invitation for membership," the announcement states.
Pejanović-Đurišić discussed with Kotromanović the projects on which the two ministries cooperate, as well as the cooperation between the Croatian Armed Forces and the Croatian Armed Forces, primarily the joint participation of Montenegrin and Croatian soldiers in the ISAF mission in Afghanistan.
During the meeting of the defense ministers, the future cooperation of the two navies and projects in the field of education were discussed, as well as potential joint participation in new projects and initiatives.
