The return of the leader of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) Milo Đukanović to the position of prime minister is logical, because he is the holder of the list that won the elections, said the former Montenegrin ambassador in Brussels, Bojan Šarkić.
He believes that Đukanović thus took on a great responsibility not only for himself but also for the government he will form.
"The problems they will face are visible and it is clear that the economic situation and financial stabilization is a priority issue for the new Đukanović cabinet," Šarkić told the Mina agency.
Asked whether official Brussels will look favorably on the return of the DPS leader to the top position in the government and whether it will affect European integration, Šarkic said that

Šarkic said that for the European Union, OSCE observers and for the Montenegrin opposition, the elections went without any problems.
"The results have been verified, the representative will form the Government. So everything has its normal course and Brussels will only welcome and congratulate the election of the new government, which will continue with the further process of European integration", he said.
Šarkić believes that in the further process of getting closer to Europe, the level of the EU is constantly rising, "so the new government will have to respond adequately".
"Through such a process, one should give an assessment of the government and its reforms," he added.
Answering the question whether the current Prime Minister Igor Lukšić should be the new head of Montenegrin diplomacy, because during his mandate Montenegro started negotiations with the EU, Šarkić said that these things should not be equated.
"The process of European integration is long-term, so by such an analogy it could also apply to the former ministers of foreign affairs, Miodrag Vlahović, Milan Roćen, and the current Nebojša Kaluđerović.
Criteria and interests are polyvalent and I am sure that Đukanović will pay special attention to the formation of his cabinet, including that function", Šarkić said.
Asked if Đukanović's arrival as prime minister could lead to major changes in ministerial positions, Šarkić said that the new prime minister "is already a big change in itself."
"In a week or two, everything will be known and we need to be patient," Šarkić concluded
