The costs of advertising political parties on television stations in the pre-election campaign amounted to more than 1,22 million euros, and the European Montenegro coalition (ECG) gave the most money for these purposes, 384,5 thousand euros, it was announced from the Center for Democratic Transition (CDT ).
CDT today presented the results of monitoring the spending of political parties during the campaign. The monitoring related to seven television stations and four daily newspapers in Montenegro, from September 1 to October 13. Political parties and electoral lists are required to submit to the State Audit Institution a report on the origin, amount and structure of collected and spent funds by November 13. money for the election campaign. According to the president of the CDT, Milica Kovačević, the parties are always late with the report and the SEC still does not effectively control their finances.
Kovačević reminded that the Democratic Front (DF) started its promotional campaign on television channels on September 10, while Positive Montenegro started a week later.
According to her, the total costs of advertising political parties on television stations amounted to 1.220.617 euros. "Radio Television of Montenegro (RTCG) is obliged to provide the submitters of confirmed electoral lists with equal and free broadcasting space every day. If we multiply the duration of the advertising of the parties on the public service by the official prices of this house, we arrive at 568.090 thousand euros," stated Kovačević. The costs of the parties on commercial televisions, she stated, amounted to 625.527 euros.
