The municipal committee of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) in Rozaje concluded that the majority of voters of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) from that town in the elections on October 14 betrayed the coalition "European Montenegro - Milo Đukanović" and gave their votes to the Bosniak Party (BS).
That conclusion of the analysis of the election results was unanimously adopted yesterday at the meeting of the Rozaj board of DPS.
The President of the OO DPS Šefkija Murić said that in the past fifteen days, a detailed analysis of all polling stations was done, which unequivocally showed that the local DPS and SDP "were not on the same mission" in the last elections.
"We analyzed the results of the parliamentary elections in 2009 and 2012, and the local elections that were held in 2010. The biggest loss that DPS had was the loss of about twenty votes per polling station, which means that our electorate remained stable and preserved despite great difficulties and the economic crisis. "The majority of SDP voters supported BS, and a small part of honest people from that party voted for the coalition," said Murić.
He believes that the coalition partners decided to betray because they wanted to "undermine, damage the local DPS, thinking that in this way they do not harm the coalition at the state level."
"The local SDP and BS have been working together since 2006, which can be proven by the results of the then, as well as the local elections in 2010. That story has continued to this day," said Murić.
The "European Montenegro" coalition won about six thousand votes in Rožaje, which is only one thousand less than BS.
"We expected that the coalition partner would bring around a thousand votes, which, unfortunately, did not happen"
The party of Rafeto Husović won 6.979 votes in that city, which is about 3 thousand more than in the previous local elections. DPS independently had 5 voters in local elections two years ago, while SDP won 6 votes.
The campaign for the parliamentary elections was marked by harsh criticism of the mayor Nusret Kalač against the leader of BS.
The accusations continued even after October 14, when Kalač told Husović that he would cede power to him even without an election, if he manages to start production at the "Gornji Ibar" factory and bring foreign investors to that city. At the time, he assessed the election atmosphere in Rožaje as irregular, and called out BS activists for putting pressure on citizens near the polling stations.
Addressing citizens on the Internet, the long-time mayor said that after the elections in Rožaj there are neither winners nor losers, but also that the election process should be forgotten as soon as possible. The president of the Rožaj committee said that their projection was that they would win about six thousand votes "because they knew that they could not have less than 10 percent compared to the previous local elections".
"We expected that the coalition partner would bring about a thousand votes, which, unfortunately, did not happen," said Murić.
He did not want to comment on speculations that the Rožaj SDP voted for BS with the agreement that they would support the leader of the OO SDP, Izet Bralić, in the next elections for the President of the Municipality.
Bralić did not answer phone calls yesterday.
