The Vice-President of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) and Prime Minister Igor Lukšić promised the residents of Bihor that the Government will adopt the recommendations establishing the municipality of Petnjica at the next session.

At the DPS promotional meeting in Petnjica, he said that the politics led by the Government and DPS always had an ear to hear the voice of the people and support their demands.

"Petnjica always made a significant contribution to our victories. I hope it will be the same this time, especially since we will already adopt the recommendations establishing the municipality of Petnjica on Thursday," Lukšić said.

On September 20, the government made a decision on the formation of the Commission for evaluating the fulfillment of the conditions for territorial change on the occasion of the held consultative referendum on the establishment of the municipality of Petnjica. At that time, it was stated that the task of the Commission is to submit to the Government an opinion on the fulfillment of the conditions for territorial change, in accordance with the law, within 30 days from the date of the decision. So far, the Government has not announced whether the Commission has been formed and who is on it.

According to the Law on the Territorial Organization of Montenegro, after considering the opinion of the Commission, the Government makes the final decision on the formation of a new municipality. After that, the Government's decision is voted on in the parliament.
