Football club Budućnost must never again be homeless in its city and in its stadium, said the famous ace of the Podgorica club Dragan Guzo Vujović at the press conference of the "Za 21. vijek" coalition.

"We started this fight a long time ago, but I hope that everyone will recognize its importance and that the city stadium will finally return to the ownership of the club," he said.

Representatives of the Democrats and the Civic Movement URA, Vladimir Čađenović and Luka Rakčević pointed out that "the irresponsible policy of the DPS, which has been managing the city and the club for decades, has brought our sacred - FK Budućnost to the lowest branches".

"That's why the first step of the new democratic government will be to return the city stadium to the ownership of the club, because Budućnost must never again be a tenant in their own house. The second, even more important, must be the expulsion of politics from the club - because it is high time that it be managed by professional people, recognized football and sports workers, and not political pawns, city sheriffs or quasi-businessmen", said the president of the Podgorica URA movement, Luka Rakčević .

The holder of the election list and the president of the Democrats in the capital, Vladimir Čađenović, said that "the priority of the city administration must be the revitalization of the failing club".

"That's why, in the next four-year term, we will build the eastern tribune, as promised so many times, and renovate the stadium's existing facilities. We all wish that our Buducnost will return to its old glory, and that fans' songs will echo through our stadium and that the citizens of Podgorica will enjoy everything," said Čađenović.

Dragan Guzo Vujović, as the coalition points out, was a long-time football player of FK Budućnost and is considered one of the recognizable icons of Podgorica, and he is also the president of the NGO "Volim Budućnost", which gathers numerous former players and stars of the club.

He pointed out today that he is not doing all this for his own sake and that "he does not have too much time left, but it is important that the club and the stadium remain for the younger generations, who have yet to enjoy the beauty of football".

"That is why it is necessary to change something in our city, and I hope that the importance of these changes will be recognized by the citizens of Podgorica", Vujović concluded.
