Ministers and MPs in the fight for Podgorica

Nine electoral lists will participate in the local elections in Podgrorica, which are being held on May 27, of which eight lists are political parties and one is a group of citizens. In addition to Podgrica, elections are also being held on May 27 in Šavnik, Žabljak, Bar, Plav, Pljevlja, Rožaj, Danilovgrad, Bijelo Polje, Kolašin, and the Golubovci municipality, and the deadline for the submission of ballots expired last night.

A large coalition of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS), Bosniak Party, Democratic Union of Albanians (DUA), Liberal Party, Montenegrin and Positive Montenegro, led by Ivan Vuković, as well as the coalition of the Democratic Front (DF) and the Socialist People's Party, are taking part in the elections in Podgorica. (SNP) led by Slaven Radunović. The coalition "Civil Alliance for Change", which consists of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and Demos, translated by Ivan Vujović, the alliance of Democrats and the Civic Movement URA headed by Vladimir Čađenović, the Social Democrats (SD) led by Đorđije Suhih, United Montenegro with the leader Danilo Jokić . Vladislav Dajković is at the head of the Prava Montenegro list, Nik Đeljošaj of the Albanian Alternative, while Saša Mijović will lead the list of the citizen group "Winner of Words".

In addition to Vuković, who is a professor at the Faculty of Political Sciences, the list also includes the Minister of Sustainable Development and Tourism Pavle Radulovići, the Minister of Economy Dragica Sekulić, as well as the youngest member of the Montenegrin Parliament, Miloš Nikolić. On the list behind Vuković are the current mayor Slavoljub Stijepović, president of the Podgorica board Vladan Vučelić, assistant in the Ministry of Economy Radosav Babić, director of the gymnasium "Slobodan Škerović" Zoja Bojanić-Lalović, deputy mayor Časlav Vešović and deputies Mihailo Andđušići Nikola Rakočević. The Bosniak party has two representatives on the list, while DUA, Pozitivna, Crnogorska and LP have one each.

Vuković said that Podgorica reminds more and more of modern European metropolises every day.

"Our Podgorica is the capital of the independent, internationally recognized state of Montenegro, which strives to profile itself as one of the world's leading tourist destinations, which has recently become a member state of the NATO alliance, and which, I am quite sure, will become part of the European Union in the near future." , said Vuković, stating that these are facts that political competition often forgets.

MP Slaven Radunović believes that it is not terrible that the opposition is coming out in several columns, stating that the coalition he leads will become the dominant part of the new government.

"It is impossible for us to win power by ourselves. We expect the government with colleagues from the opposition, to form a new city government with them after May 27 according to democratically established standards. The worst thing that can happen to us is to spend the campaign in a fight among ourselves and demotivate our voters. We need to motivate the free people of Podgorica. We should refrain from harsh attacks. I will not respond to punches below the belt. Everyone on our list is thinking in that direction," said Radunović.

The holder of the "Civil Alliance for Change" list, Ivan Vujović, said that Podgorica needs authentic civil and not party changes. Among the civil representatives on the list are the Minister of Agriculture in the government of electoral trust Budimir Mugoša and the director of the Safe Women's House Ljiljana Raičević.

"This is because politics exists to serve citizens, not parties and privileged individuals. The Civic Alliance for Change wants to lead such a policy that will encourage the free spirit of citizens who will know that they elect the government and that the government must be accountable to the citizens," said Vujović, while Tina Dimić Raičević from Demos said that the Civic Alliance for Change can wake up the people of Podgorica.

The holder of the "Winner of Words" list, Saša Mijović, said that he is participating in the elections because of the "complete disinterest of the parties in solving the existential issues of citizens".

11 electoral lists will participate in the local elections in Bar, among them the list of the Democratic Party of Socialists, led by the current vice-president of the municipality, Dušan Raičević. The "Biram Bar" party, led by Radomir Novaković Cakan, the Social Democrats led by Mićo Orlandić, and the coalition of Democrats and the URA movement led by Dragan Tufegdžić are participating in the elections. At the head of the SDP list is Dragan Vojvodić, Prave Montenegro Boško Čarmak, while Nada Marstijepović translates the group of citizens "Reforma". The coalition of the Democratic Front and the Socialist People's Party (SNP), the Bosniak Party, the Democratic Alliance and Demos are also fighting for council seats in Bar.

In the elections in Kolašin, the Democrats led by Vladimir Martinović, the group of voters "Šule i Mikan with citizens for Kolašin", whose list holder is Milan Đukić, and the United Montenegro headed by Novica Dragojević, will take part. In that city, the list of Social Democrats will be led by Nikola Medicinal, while the DPS list is led by Milisav Bato Bulatović, and the election list of the Social Democratic Party is translated by the current mayor Željka Vuksanović.

Front in Pljevlje divided because of Milan Lekić

The Democratic Front will not stand alone in the local elections in Pljevlje, but the New Serbian Democracy and the Movement for Change will stand in coalition with the Socialist People's Party, while the leader of the list will be Milan Lekić.

Milan Knežević's Democratic People's Party and the Movement for Pljevlja are participating in the elections in a coalition with Prava Montenegro, and the list holder is Vladislav Bojović.

The main reason for the disunity in the DF is the proposal that Lekić be the holder of the list in Pljevlja.

"An insurmountable obstacle was the intention and decision of one man to be the holder of the list again, according to the principle of "third time lucky", even though he had already been unsuccessful twice. We did everything to find an adequate political person who would be acceptable to all coalition partners and who would represent a new political person in Pljevlja and Montenegro. We wanted him to be a younger man with new ideas and an unspent political biography. We believe that Prava Montenegro and its leader, Mr. Marko Milačić, will bring this new strength and fresh political ideas to our coalition. Following such an idea, we agreed that Vladislav Bojović will be the leader of our coalition's list in Pljevlja", they state in the coalition, which operates under the slogan "To save Pljevlja".

The electoral list DPS-BS-SD, led by Mirko Đačić, the Social Democratic Party headed by Adnan Hadžiosmanović and the Democrats led by Milojica Tešović, are participating in the elections in Pljevlja.

Đeljošaj: There is no waste of Albanian votes in Podgorica

The holder of the list of the Albanian Alternative in Podgorica, Nik Đeljošaj, welcomed the decision of the Democratic Alliance not to participate in the local elections in the capital, stating that it will prevent the votes of Albanians from being counted. The leaders of the Democratic Alliance had previously rejected AA's invitation to support them in the local elections.

"Although we understand the reasons why they did not give public support to AA, we consider that not going to the polls is support. By preventing the wastage of votes, we have a better chance of winning the council mandate in Podgorica. I hope that by May 28 we will have a clearer political situation and I expect cooperation. I will be the first to stand up for her," he said.

AA is the only Albanian party that is running independently in the elections in Podgorica, while DUA is part of the coalition led by DPS.

Kalač leads DPS in Rožaje, Smolović in Bijelo Polje

Bećir Kalač will lead the electoral list of the DPS in Rožaje, while Ervin Ibrahimović is on the list of the Bosniak Party. The SDP, Social Democrats, Democrats, URA, PzP, as well as the Party of Justice and Reconciliation led by Hazbija Kalač participate in the elections in Rožaje.

At the head of the DPS list in Bijelo Polje is Petar Smolović, while that party will be led by Veselin Vukićević in Žabljak, Dušan Radonjić in Golubovci, and Šefket Jevrić in Plav. The electoral list of DF-SNP in Plav will be led by MP Milun Zogović, SDP's Medo Markišić, BS's Damir Gutić, SD's Omer Mehmedović.
