My generation, as well as the previous generation of politicians, did not always respond to the needs of Montenegrin citizens, but I hope that a new generation will succeed in affirming democracy in the right way, said the alumni of the School of Democratic Leadership and MP of the SNP, Aleksandar Damjanović, at the second annual assembly of ŠDR, in the hotel "Podgorica".
Speaking about the leadership crisis in politics, he added that the leader's duty is to influence social trends, especially young people who want to engage in politics.
"Charismatic leaders were often elected in our country, whom we accepted easily, but rejected even more easily," said Damjanović.
The President of the Academic Council of the Slovak Republic, Čedomir Čupić, stated that the goal of this school is to help everyone to get involved in political life in the best way, passing good laws and spreading the importance of the public.
"I want the spirit of this school to spread and be practiced, and it spreads best through you," said Čupić to the school's tenth generation alumni.
The vice-president of the Rockefeller Brothers Foundation, Elizabeth Campbell, pointed out that she believes that democracy is a way of life, and that the role of independent media and non-governmental organizations is crucial in the realization of democratic processes.
