"We call on the institutions of the Republic of Serbia to, in accordance with the constitutional and legal obligations, provide assistance to the members of the Serbian people, so that the censuses reflect the objective number of members of the Serbian people in the states of the region," the announcement states.
The board expressed the expectation that the governments and institutions of the countries where the censuses are held will enable them to be held in accordance with European standards, which also includes the possibility of free declaration of national and religious affiliation and native language, without discrimination and pressure of any kind.

"We expect that they will enable the proportional participation of members of the Serbian people in the census commissions and other bodies that participate in the process and the transparency of the population census in all its phases, until the publication of the final results," the announcement states.
