The President of the Parliament of Montenegro, Ivan Brajović, said today after the meeting with the President of the National Council of Switzerland, Dominique de Bouman, that the conversation was very open and specific, and that many issues from the jurisdiction of the parliaments were discussed, as well as the possibility of more intensive cooperation in the field of economy, with with an emphasis on the development of tourism and agriculture, especially in the north of Montenegro, Brajović's cabinet announced.
"Switzerland is a desirable partner for every country in the world, including Montenegro. Through Oraskom, this country is very present in Montenegro, and it welcomes interest in new investments. Very quickly and easily we agreed to intensify the cooperation of our parliaments as a precursor to even better and more intensive cooperation between our countries," said Brajović.
"Today we talked about the relations between our two countries, which have a lot in common. We are talking about two small, stable countries with strong identities. We talked about strengthening cooperation, because there is a desire to strengthen relations in many areas, both on the diplomatic level, as well as with the new Swiss investments in Montenegro," said De Buman.
At the meeting with the director of the Center for Democratic Control of the Armed Forces (DCAF - Dikaf), Tomas Guerbera, President Brajović emphasized the importance of cooperation with expert organizations such as Dikaf and thanked for the support in numerous trainings and professional assistance in legislation, primarily through cooperation with the Parliamentary Committee for security and defense.
"We discussed the current challenges of your country, especially in the field of work and the control role of the Assembly. Dikaf is amazed by the results that Montenegro has achieved in recent years. We discussed not only the possibilities of continuing and strengthening cooperation in a multilateral context, but also bilaterally. I believe that "Dikaf, like Montenegro, can still achieve a lot by continuing the path we have traveled together so far," said Guerber.
