For more than a month and a half, the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (ASK) has been silent on whether it initiated proceedings against "Biram Bar" due to the suspicion that it financed its election campaign last year from abroad, which is prohibited by law.
Serbian singer Dženan Lončarević donated a non-monetary donation of 1.000 euros to the electoral list of Radomir Novakovic Cakan, according to a document at the Agency regarding contributions to the election campaign.
He gave a concert at the final convention of the electoral list on May 25, two days before the election.
"Biram Bar" won five council mandates in the elections two days later.
Now she is a member of the ruling coalition in that city with the Democratic Party of Socialists, the Social Democrats and the Bosniak Party.
The leader of "Biram Bar" was appointed as the vice president of the Municipality.
The Law on the Financing of Political Entities and Election Campaigns specifies, among other things, that it is prohibited for election participants to receive material, financial assistance and non-monetary contributions from other states, companies and legal entities outside the territory of Montenegro and natural persons and entrepreneurs who do not have the right to vote in Montenegro.
Because of this, "Biram Bar" is threatened by the same law with a fine of 10.000 to 20.000 euros.
In mid-January, "Vijesti" sent questions to the Agency, headed by Sreten Radonjić, whether they had initiated the procedure, if so, what was its outcome, and if not, why.
According to the Law, a natural person may help someone's election campaign up to 2.000 euros, and a legal person up to 10.000 euros.
