The UNESCO report on the bed of the Tara River is the biggest confirmation that the Ministry of Sustainable Development in Tourism (MORT) is an accomplice in the destruction of the greatest natural beauty of our country, announced today from the Civic Movement (GP) URA.

The Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) Network for the Affirmation of the Non-Governmental Sector (MANS) announced yesterday that the main conclusion of the UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) mission, which visited the highway construction site at the end of last year, is that the construction of bridges over as well as exploitation and the dumping of gravel and sand seriously devastated the bed of the Tara River within the area protected by the UNESCO program "Man and the Biosphere".

They said that UNESCO has confirmed that MORT is deceiving the public, and they told the Minister of Sustainable Development and Tourism Pavlo Radulović that "they are short on lies."

"Everything that the representatives of the civil sector, political parties and the professional public communicated about the state of the river, unfortunately, turned out to be true. On the other hand, everything that was claimed by MORT and Minister Pavle Radulović, as well as a few paid "experts" turned out to be true. as manipulation and a lie. With its arrogant, primitive and underestimating attitude towards nature and justified demands of citizens, MORT only shows that it is in the clutches of financial and corruption circles, so it tries to convince us of its own falsehoods with stories about development. However, they also know themselves that they have weak legs in lies", said GP URA.

The party added that it is extremely worrying that MORT does not see what the whole world sees, so the question arises whether the ambition of this government department is to destroy and devastate all valuable natural resources of Montenegro.

"The fact that ecological awareness and the need to preserve natural resources among citizens is awakening more and more. We must be ready to defend Tara, as well as other natural pearls such as Solana, Sinjajevina, Bukovica, Crno jezero, Boka... In fact, all which is worth and which belongs to the future generations of citizens of Montenegro. Advocating for the preservation of the environment is the priority policy of their party, and that they will continue to closely monitor the situation related to all environmental problems, as well as that they will seek domestic and international support to solve them," he concludes. in the announcement of GP URA.
