The agony of Pljevlja continues, and with today's election of the leader of our city, the decision is finally made, announced Milojica Tešović, member of Democratic Montenegro in the Municipal Assembly (SO) of Pljevlja.
"Once again, everyone else decides about Pljevlja except for the people of Pljevlja. This phenomenon does not need to be explained in particular, because according to the latest events, it is clear to both the authorities and the opposition. Pljevlja remains robbed and humiliated by the DPS authorities, which today deals our town the final blow from which difficult to recover," Tešović pointed out.
He added that this assessment is based on available indicators on the number of investments, new jobs, demography, the state of the environment and the liquidity of large economic entities.
"It wasn't long ago when the representatives of the current government spoke highly of the management of Pljevlja and even said that the former mayor was the best president that Pljevlja ever had and that during his reign the largest budget was achieved. In the meantime, a political earthquake occurred and the much-lauded president of the Municipality resigns without explanation. As can be seen, one of the immediate reasons is the impossibility of collecting claims from "Vektra Jakić", which according to some data amount to around 10 million euros. Then, the impossibility of introducing environmental compensation, as well as the municipality's high indebtedness and the blocking of giro accounts due to unpaid taxes and contributions," Tešović said. According to him, the current government, both at the central and local levels, did not take seriously the warnings of the Democrats regarding the concessions for "Vektra Jakić", when, as Tešović points out, they demanded the termination of the concession contract.
"Vektra Jakić" ravaged the forests of Pljevlja, and the state did not undertake anything to collect the claims. Also, the Government stopped the collection of environmental compensation as income that according to the law belongs to Pljevlja. Because of all this, the Municipal Budget lacks significant funds that are difficult to replace from other sources. According to the available data for half a year, the realization of the budget is barely a quarter of the planned funds. If this trend continues, the budget will be realized with only half of the planned amount (plan 16,5 means the realization of eight to nine million). This realization of the Budget will only will be able to meet current needs, and there will be very little left for financing projects from the capital budget, better to say none at all. We pointed out all these problems and time has confirmed that we were right," said Tešović.
The Democrat councilor in the Municipal Council of Pljevlja also stated that today, during the election of the Municipal President, instead of the DPS offering a detailed analysis of the situation in Pljevlja and proposing measures to remedy that situation, the councilors only received an extensive biography of the presidential candidate.
"The former president of the Municipality, Mirko Đačić, recognized the mentioned problems and admitted that there was no solution, and then resigned. How the government will function with the new president and how the accumulated problems will be solved remains to be seen. For now, as expected, nothing was offered," concluded Tešović.
