An official of the ruling Bosniak party, Adnan Muhović, said that July 11 should be a non-working day for Bosniaks in Montenegro - due to the commemoration of the genocide in Srebrenica.
"Members of the Bosniak people in Montenegro, as part of a single Bosniak corps, perceive the Srebrenica genocide as the biggest wound in their history, and by declaring July 11 as a non-working day, the state would show once again that it respects the victims of the genocide and sympathizes with Bosniaks from Montenegro who on the same they feel pain in the same way as the Bosniaks of Bosnia", assessed Muhović.
He points out that the Parliament adopted a resolution on Srebrenica several years ago, which showed that Montenegro stands on the side of European values and multiculturalism.
"With this act, she would elevate herself even more and in the eyes of the Bosniaks of Montenegro would deserve even greater respect. In this way, the Bosniaks from Montenegro would be able to go to Srebrenica in an organized manner on July 11, and to commemorate Genocide Day in Montenegro itself. In particular, the local Municipal Assemblies would that should have been done in areas such as Petnjica, where July 11 was commemorated while I was the president of the SO, in Rožaj, Plav, Gusinje, Bijelo Polje and Pljevlja. And of course Podgorica as the capital," said the dismissed president of the SO Petnjica.
Muhović points out that preserving the culture of memory and memory is of great importance for a nation:
"And remembering the victims of the genocide in Srebrenica is an obligation for all Bosniaks in the world".
