World officials congratulated the National Day

The President of Montenegro, Milo Đukanović, received the congratulations of the highest officials on the occasion of July 13 - Statehood Day.

Italian President Sergio Mattarella stated that this year Montenegro and Italy are celebrating the 140th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.

Starting from that historical anniversary, as he said, the strategic character of bilateral relations, which are successfully developing in the fields of politics, economy, culture, defense, science and technology, gains even more importance.

"With the certainty that the historical relations between Rome and Podgorica will find new opportunities for further deepening, especially bearing in mind the perspective of Montenegro's integration into the European Union, I send you my warmest wishes for the well-being of you personally and the friendly Montenegrin people," the congratulatory message states.

King Felipe VI of Spain, together with the Government and people of Spain, congratulated Montenegro on its national holiday.

"I wish peace and progress to the dear Montenegrin people," says the congratulatory message of the Spanish king.

The President of the United Arab Emirates, Khalif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, wished Djukanovic good luck and Montenegrin people prosperity.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that he wants to have relations with Montenegro, which from the perspective of the future and stability of the Balkans they see in the foreground, develop even more strongly within a wider range, as well as maintaining the positive growth of bilateral relations.

"I want our relations to be even stronger with mutual visits at the highest level, and I am very pleased to see that Montenegrin institutions share our desire," said Erdogan.

Japanese emperor Naruhita wished Đukanović personal happiness and prosperity to the people of Montenegro.

United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres states in his congratulatory message:

"It is my pleasure to send my congratulations to the people of Montenegro on the occasion of the national holiday. These are challenging times where international cooperation is needed more than ever. The whole world benefits when "We the Peoples" come together for the benefit of peace, sustainable development and human rights. As you mark this day, I count on your country's active participation in strengthening the United Nations and advancing our efforts for a better future for all. Please, Your Excellency, accept the expressions of my highest regard".

President of China Xi Jinping, while congratulating Đukanović personally and the Montenegrin people, points out:

"These years, the political mutual trust between China and Montenegro has been consistently strengthened, our cooperation in various fields is getting fruitful results. I highly value the development of Sino-Montenegro relations and I am ready to, together with you, promote Sino-Montenegro relations to consistently reach a higher level, and to bring benefit to our countries and peoples. I wish your country prosperity, your people happiness and health".

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić said that he remains committed to the development of good neighborly relations between Serbia and Montenegro, as well as the policy of peace and stability in the region.

"That's why I expect that, in the coming period, through joint efforts, with mutual respect, we will intensify the dialogue on issues of mutual interest and encourage cooperation, especially economic, as well as infrastructural connection," said Vučić.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said that he believes that friendly relations and cooperation of mutual interest between Azerbaijan and Montenegro will continue to develop and expand in the future in accordance with the interests of the two peoples. "On this important day, I wish you good health, success in your work, and peace and prosperity to the friendly people of Montenegro," he said.

Congratulations on the occasion of July 13 - National Day were also sent by the President of Slovakia Suzana Čaputova, President of Hungary Ader Janoš, President of Switzerland Ueli Maurer, President of Algeria Adbelkader Bensalah, President of Greece Prokopios Pavlopoulos, King of Jordan Abdullah II, President of Ireland Michael D. Higgins, President of the Presidency Che Riong He of the Supreme People's Assembly of North Korea, President of the Czech Republic Miloš Zeman.
