The Center for Democratic Transition (CDT) submitted to the Supreme State Prosecutor's Office (VDT) a total of 294 reports from citizens who suspect that their data was misused to support presidential candidates. The CDT announced that they received hundreds of applications, and that by 14 p.m. today, 200 had been processed and submitted to the VDT. On Tuesday, 94 applications were submitted. "We received several complaints from citizens who were contacted by the prosecutor's office today," the statement said. They added that they welcome the quick reaction of the prosecutor's office and the creation of a case related to citizens' complaints. "We hope that they will continue with decisive action and determine unequivocally whether there are elements of a criminal offense in the collection of personal data and signatures," said the CDT. It is stated that a large number of citizens contact them not only with the request that their cases be criminally prosecuted, but also that their data be removed from the signature database. "We inform the citizens that the CDT is not able to do this and that they should turn to the State Election Commission (SEC) due to a possible violation of electoral rights," the statement added. They said that they understand the reaction and anger of some citizens because of everything that happened to them, but they tell them that they must be patient and wait for the legal epilogue of the case. "The only correct way for this situation to be resolved is through appropriate procedures before state authorities, and any other reactions from citizens would be inappropriate," explained the CDT. They called on citizens to continue to check and report misuse of personal data and to prevent their illegal use through joint action.
