The President of Montenegro, Vladimir Pavićević, said that in the statements of DPS officials, the absence of the ability to see reality and nervousness when talking about the Committee for Comprehensive Reform of Electoral Legislation is noticeable.
"By adopting the Brussels plan, the DPS showed its powerlessness, and all attempts by this party to prepare a similar scenario for next year's elections have failed. It is clear to any impartial observer of political processes that 2020 is the year of the final expropriation of the DPS," Pavićević said.
He added that the Committee for the Comprehensive Reform of Electoral Legislation is a key place for preparing fair conditions for next year's elections and that precisely because of this, "DPS is trying to make sense of the functioning of this parliamentary body in its own, well-known way."
"DPS has lost its credibility with international partners precisely by instigating the case of presenting their party papers as official parliamentary papers to international representatives coming to Montenegro. "Such subterfuges can no longer go through and this is precisely one of the reasons why the international community sees a credible partner in Montenegro in the emancipatory political alliance, of which Montenegro is a member, and which is led by the Democrats," Pavićević said.
He repeated that he was surprised by the anti-opposition activities of MP Aleksandar Damjanović.
"Instead of directing his demands on the work of the Board, Damjanović towards the DPS and thereby contributing to the weakening of the DPS, these days Damjanović has turned to the opposition, looking for something that only harms the opposition and contributes to the DPS. If he is already working as he is doing, Damjanović should to join the DPS", said Pavićević.
He reminded Damjanović that the citizens "voted for him to fight against the DPS, not to mess with the DPS".
"It is time to clearly state who is the true opposition and emancipatory force in Montenegrin politics and who is not. Montenegrin citizens see that we are the only real opposition. And DPS, DF and people like Damjanović are clearly part of the old system and the old regime within which the DF leads the opposition that is loyal to Milo Đukanović," concluded Pavićević.
