Danijel Živković, MP of the DPS in the Parliament of Montenegro and member of Working Group 2 of the Committee for the Reform of Electoral Laws, presented the key novelties of the Law on the Voters List, which was proposed by the ruling coalition, the civil sector and the academic community, as part of joint work.

Živković said that they are amending the Law on the Voter List in accordance with the recommendations of the OSCE, the NGO sector, the academic community and the Ministry of Interior.

"Some of the most significant changes refer to Article 2, paragraph 3 of the Law on the Electoral Roll, which is harmonized with Article 45 of the Constitution of Montenegro, and it refers to the acquisition of the conditions for exercising the right to vote and the actual registration in the electoral roll. As for the second important changes, it refers to the issue of cooperation between the SEC and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, until now the SEC carried out supervision and monitoring of the implementation of the Law on Voters' List, and now this issue is regulated through chapter 4 - Cooperation between the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Interior - a", stated Živković.
