The Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (ASK) would not have enough time to control the work of political parties if the proposed solution is adopted that they can do this in the election campaign from the moment they submit the electoral lists, said the president of the ASK Council, Momčilo Radulović. He said that it is surprising how easy it is to reach a party consensus on issues that suit all parties.
"Obviously, it suits them to have as little control over the work of the parties as possible during the election cycle. Such a solution would be very bad and I hope it will not come to that," said Radulović to the MINA agency.
He believes that a period of 20 days is not enough for the Agency to do its work properly and that at that moment it may come to a situation where the Agency does not have the legal framework and the ability to carry out the part of control that is expected of it.
"If that happens, it will be a systemic limitation of the scope of work of the KAS, which can produce negative consequences in the institutional sense and thus reduce the transparency of the election process. I hope that there will be no such solutions that reduce transparency and the possibility of controlling the work of political parties and the electoral process," said Radulović.
