The representatives of the opposition will not seek the post of deputy of the Committee for Comprehensive Reform of Electoral and Other Legislation, where the Democratic Front (DF) MP Strahinja Bulajić was.

Front MPs left the Committee last Sunday because, as they claim, the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) did not want a dialogue on electoral reforms. In addition to Bulajić, the Front was also represented in the Board by Branka Bošnjak and Predrag Bulatović. In Democratic Montenegro they said that they will not ask for Bulajić's place in the Board.

"We will not seek the position of deputy president of the Committee for Comprehensive Reform of Electoral and Other Legislation. We do not have and do not plan any communication with Branimir Gvozdenović, the master of election abuses, so it is not even natural for one of our MPs to be his deputy. We managed to cancel the work of all working groups of the DPS, to bring order to the work of the Board and to force the DPS to constitute new working committees, which have already started their work. We are focused on creating solutions for the first fair and free elections in Montenegro, so we have already submitted 40 of the 100 that we have prepared. Finally, we put the DPS in a very difficult position", the Democrats state.

The Social Democratic Party (SDP) unofficially said that there were no discussions about filling the vacant position in the Committee.

Gvozdenović recently said that the decision of the DF deputy will not affect the work of the Committee, because it is stipulated that decisions are made by consensus. He reminded that even without three DF representatives, the obligation according to which the Board can vote can be fulfilled if 11 out of 14 members are present at the session. The committee has 14 members, consisting of seven representatives each from the parliamentary majority and the opposition. The Chairman of the Committee is from DPS, while the deputy is from the strongest opposition parliamentary group.

In the rest of the opposition, after the decision of the DF to leave the work of the Committee, they assessed that it will not affect the work of that parliamentary body, explaining that the parties that participate in the work of the Committee have two-thirds of the deputies in the parliament.
