By participating in the NATO mission in Latvia, Montenegro demonstrated its responsibility in strengthening global peace and security, which is why it enjoys the trust of the armed forces of allied countries, said Andrija Nikolić, president of the Committee for International Relations and Emigrants.
The delegation of the Committee visited the members of the Army of Montenegro located in the Latvian military base Adaža, as part of the "Strengthened Forward Presence" of the Alliance in the East.
The delegation of the Committee was welcomed by the commander of the Multinational Battle Group in Adaži, MJ Riki, a member of the Canadian army, who presented the capacities of the military base.
"He praised the Montenegrin soldiers, characterizing them as stable individuals with excellent physical fitness and professionals dedicated to their work," the statement said.
Nikolić and Board member Luiđ Škrelja stated that they are satisfied with the positive evaluations of high military representatives of NATO, regarding the professional attitude of Montenegrin soldiers towards their regular tasks.
They added that they expect the soldiers to represent the country of Montenegro worthily in the future.
At the meeting, it was concluded that the concrete benefits of membership in NATO are reflected in the increasing opportunities for the advancement of members of the Army, who have the opportunity to use advanced military equipment, exchange useful experiences with colleagues from other NATO members, and improve their knowledge of the English language.
The meeting with the Montenegrin soldiers was attended by the Montenegrin ambassador to Poland and, as of today, the non-resident ambassador to Latvia, Budimir Šegrt, as well as the first secretary at the Montenegrin Embassy in Poland, Robert Markić.
