Democratic Montenegro proposed that job loss be the punishment for officials and employees who use official vehicles for the election campaign.
The proposed amendments to the Law on Financing of Political Entities, proposed by the Democrats, also require a ban on parties from using premises, equipment or other property intended for the work of state bodies and local self-government.
"We propose a ban on state and local officials, officials and employees, from using official cars and other equipment owned by the state or local self-government for pre-election purposes. A functionary, employee and employee who is proven in the appropriate disciplinary or court proceedings to have violated this prohibition has committed a serious breach of duty, as a result of which his employment is terminated by force of law," states Secretary General of Democrats Boris Bogdanović.
He states that the proposal for changes stipulates that an official, official or employee may not be employed by a state body or in local self-government for five years after being dismissed. He reminded that the current legal solution does not provide for penalties, which is why it proved to be unsustainable in practice.
"The current decision prescribes the obligation for state and local self-government bodies to publish issued travel orders for driving official vehicles on their website every seven days, from the day of the announcement until the election is held. It is useful, but not enough," he told "Vijesti".

Bogdanović reminded that gross abuses of state property were recorded in the previous elections, which, he said, were used to serve the interests of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS).
He warned that during the election campaigns, state and local officials, as well as officials of the governing structures, massively used state property for party purposes.
Bogdanović also pointed out that the offices of state bodies and bodies of local self-government units have been turned into election headquarters of the ruling coalition.
"Official cars are used by DPS officials to visit voters or transport election materials during the campaign, and on election day to transport safe voters to the polling station. Thus, the branched network is completed with logistics at the expense of the state and municipal budgets. In all election cycles, citizens were able to make sure that official vehicles circulate in cities and villages, some of which do not even have license plates," he said.
