From the beginning of 2015 until today, 85 persons have acquired honorary citizenship of Montenegro, announced the Minister of Internal Affairs Mevludin Nuhodžić in the Assembly.

Member of the Democratic Front, Jovan Vučurović, asked for information on who received honorary citizenship as part of parliamentary questions.

The Minister explained that these are 85 people who achieved results in scientific work, investors, artists and experts who contribute to the affirmation of culture, athletes who achieved top results.

He added that according to the law, he cannot disclose the names of those persons because, as he said, personal data from the register of citizens can only be used by the MUP, and other users only if they are authorized to do so by law.

The minister said that the National Security Agency checked all those persons, and that among them there are none who are on warrants or who threaten the security of Montenegro.

Vučurović expressed doubts about the accuracy of those data, claiming that the DPS, whose minister is an official, is deliberately hiding the data after it became known that many disputed persons are like Taksin Shinawatra.
