The Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) is tearing itself away from several investments in culture that it drags on from mandate to mandate, Radojica Ivanović, a member of the Capital City Democrats Committee, announced today, reacting to announcement of the Club of Councilors of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS).
What about what you haven't done and what you don't want to do, look at and implement in due time? What are you proud of for 30 years of your raiding and not ruling? The city theater is worthy of respect and is of great importance for culture, but it is shameful to mention it, because for more than a decade you have been promising capital investments and again failed to finish it, and the end of the mandate is here. And as for other investments, don't blind us. You ask us where we are and whether we live in Podgorica? You ask that question to yourself and the question of how many times do you walk through Stara Varoš or just drive by in your expensive cars?" Ivanović pointed out.
He told DPS Podgorica to ask itself how much it values the cultural goods and values of Podgorica, its architecture and its authenticity.
"Ask yourself how in a short time we have revived culture in the municipalities where we exercise power. What are our specific investments and how much will they be when we are the government in Podgorica. You are asking us to invest in culture in the short time since we have been in existence. However, you forget that you have existed for 30 years with one theater, and several fairs and events. You didn't say anything about the problems I mentioned, at least that you would try to implement them. Instead, you immediately started to dazzle the citizens with your investments that we have been listening to for years. In addition to everything, you still want trust, and you object to us trying to win a vote. It is you who have been winning it with untruths for years and make the same promises and investments for every election. We do not want to create discord among citizens with your culture, and to constantly remind them to division," Ivanovic said.
According to him, the aim of the Democrats is not to abuse culture for political purposes, to make culture a lie (kitsch).
"For us, culture is not an investment from which individuals will profit. It is also not a means by which politically eligible citizens will be employed. We want and want to return Podgorica to its citizens, so that they do not feel like they belong in it, but their own. The Democrats will return culture and art in every part of the city, and with our actions, honest and sincere work, we will fight for every vote. For Podgorica, which will be the center of culture and art. By gaining the trust of the citizens, not by marketing what has already been marketed, but after winning the local elections, engage in concrete investments in culture and provide citizens with visible results," Ivanović concluded.
