The Democrats apparently either do not live in Podgorica or do not shy away from spreading obvious falsehoods in a desperate attempt to win a vote that would move them from the brink of the census, announced today from the Club of Councilors of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) in the Assembly of the Capital City.
"Because how else to explain their claims that Podgorica is a city where there is no place for culture when it is known that the budget for culture has been increased from year to year and in the previous three years more than ten million euros have been allocated when it comes to current or operational expenses, and for capital projects in the field of culture that have been implemented and those whose implementation is underway, close to eight million euros will be invested through the construction of the City Theater, the reconstruction of the KIC "Budo Tomović" including the DODEST hall, the installation of the summer stage, the construction of the City bookstore and monument to Vojvo Mirko Petrović, reconstruction of Rist Stijović's birthplace, restoration of the Clock Tower and landscaping of Bećir-beg Osmanagić Square, research and restoration of the Ribnica fortress, archaeological research in Duklja, etc. the statement of the member of the Committee of Democratic Montenegro of the Capital City, Radojica Ivanović, who said, among other things, that "the decade-long government has made Podgorica a nest of domestic and foreign investors and birds of prey".
In the press release of the Club of DPS Councilors, it is stated that the total investments in the reconstruction of the KIC, in the last two years alone, exceed 200.000 euros, which, they claim, speaks of their determination to work dedicatedly and continuously to improve the conditions for an even stronger development of culture and the creation of opportunities to fellow citizens and visitors to the city enjoy what are the greatest reaches of cultural and artistic creativity in an exceptional space.
"The construction of the city theater is also one of the capital infrastructure projects in Podgorica, and the total investment is about six million euros. The building of the City Theater, which has reached 66 years of existence without its own building, will have two stages for holding performances. The goal of the project is to everything that is necessary will be reduced to one space that contains a puppet stage, drama, performance program, equipment, as well as administration. In addition to the above, new contents were also established, such as the Podgorica International Book Fair, and existing long-term events were significantly financially strengthened: "Podgorica cultural summer, DEUS and FIAT, which resulted in significantly richer and better program contents and in a longer time interval", said DPS.
They also state that the city has significantly intensified its cooperation with NGOs, various associations and creative individuals, which, they claim, has resulted in support in the implementation of many new events that are already becoming traditional in Podgorica - the multi-day Podgorica music pop-rock festival City Groove, which gathers renowned musicians from of the region and Europe, Podgorica Art Fest, which has become a traditional gathering place for artists of various profiles¸ Džada Fest, which has given a special stamp in terms of perception; the fantastic Made in NY Jazz Festival, Guitar Days and many others.
"So, the facts are once again denied by the Democrats, who cannot tell the public what they have done in the municipalities where they exercise power, instead of spreading falsehoods about others," concludes the announcement of the DPS Councilors' Club in the Assembly of the Capital City.
