The administrative board rejected the requests of Konjević and Divanović

The administrative committee rejected the requests of Social Democratic Party (SDP) deputy Rasko Konjević and Democratic Socialist Party (DPS) deputy Nikola Divanović to cancel their decisions on fines.

The request was rejected as impermissible and unfounded.

Konjević and Divanović were fined 10 percent of their salary because they were reprimanded at the plenary session.

DPS deputy Milorad Vuletić said that the punishments of deputies are an unpleasant obligation, but that they are obliged to follow the rules of procedure.

"Sixty fines were imposed for a reason, because some of the colleagues behaved improperly at the plenum. The provisions of the rules of procedure are not good when we look at them now from all sides, but we must not impose them selectively. It would be a greater gift than a measure if we were to carry out experiments." claims Vuletić.

Milun Zogović (DF) assessed that the board did not even have the right to decide on punishments and pointed out that in this case there is no second instance authority that decides on appeals.

"The board punishes, then decides on appeals again. A vicious circle has been created here in which there is no legal remedy. We did not want to appeal for reasons of principle, but a deputy cannot be fined for statements," Zogović warned.

Konjević said that he needs real help and pointed out that he has the right to it according to the Constitution. He asked whether he was participating in the session as a member of the board or as a party to the proceedings.

"I was not invited to the session as a party and you cannot carry out the proceedings. Is this a board session or are you listening to me," Konjević asked Board President Ljuiđ Škrelja.

"This is a board meeting and we are discussing what the assembly passed. You are not at the hearing because we do not have these powers... If you have objections to the rules of procedure, propose amendments".
