Municipal organizations SDP Plava and Gusinja held party conventions where new municipal committees were elected in these two municipalities.
The convention held in Plav, at which the municipal board with 47 members was elected, was chaired by SDP deputy and member of the party presidency Džavid Šabović.
Šabović pointed out that the SDP, both in Plav and in the country, emerges consolidated and strong after numerous challenges, with older hardened fighters and numerous new members and sympathizers, ready for new political struggles in order to strive for the SDP's original idea of a civil, multi-ethnic and European Montenegro.
"In government, we achieved great strategic goals, prevented many economic damages to the country, and whether we made mistakes in that government, we did, and we do not want to dispute that for a moment. Likewise, we voluntarily left that government, making a departure from the policy of transforming the state into private property. The state must belong to everyone and not to anyone," said Šabović.
The conventions in Plav and Gusinje were also attended by the general secretary of the SDP, Ivan Vujović, who expressed his satisfaction with the party's strength and vitality in these areas.
"The SDP did not make mistakes at any strategic crossroads - neither when it fought for the state, its civic orientation and the coexistence of all religions and nations, nor when it fought for the EU and NATO, nor when it fought against the capture of the state by the party. We in In Montenegro, we must live together - with each other and not next to each other, because that is the only way this country will be strong, stable and eternal. Unity based on the clear civilizational values of modern citizen Montenegro, and its unquestionable statehood, is the path that the SDP will follow in the future as well. period," Vujović pointed out.
The new SDP municipal committee in Gusinje will have 15 members.
