Naser Resulbegović, president of the municipal committee of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) Ulcinj, announced that the previous local elections in Ulcinj were marked by great pressure on voters and the creation of an environment in which there were no conditions for free elections, the SDP announced today.
"The government resulting from such elections has shown that it is unable to respond to the needs of the citizens of Ulcinj, and that is precisely why Ulcinj, as the resource-richest municipality in Montenegro, continues to stagnate, and the most valuable goods must be sold in order to ensure the elementary functioning of the city," Resulbegović pointed out. at the Convention of the Municipal Organization SDP Ulcinj, where a new municipal committee was elected, which has 25 members.
The SDP announcement adds that Resulbegović, presenting the results of the party in the previous four-year period, emphasized that it was a period full of political challenges from which the SDP emerged stronger, with full action unity for the implementation of the policy it has been leading for three decades.
"We were at the level of political and state responsibility when we voted for Montenegro's membership in NATO and thus showed our full commitment to the party's strategic commitments," Resulbegović said.
Skender Elezagić, long-term president of the OO SDP and chairman of the Convention, "expressed his satisfaction with the fact that the SDP in this municipality has consolidated its ranks and that with today's convention it is starting a new cycle that will certainly bring even better results and mark the further strengthening of the SDP in Ulcinj".
The convention was attended by SDP vice-president Bojan Zeković and general secretary Ivan Vujović.
"Vujović emphasized the vitality of the municipal organization SDP Ulcinj, which in conditions of enormous pressure on our membership and voters managed to show its strength and preserve the idea of a just state of Montenegro, which must be the homeland of all its citizens," the SDP press release states.
He said that small societies such as Montenegrin have a hard time surviving without justice as a basic value that has adorned all parts of our country for centuries.
"The lack of a sense of justice and the huge social disunity that citizens see at every step is a path towards weakening and not strengthening the state. SDP, as a fundamental state-building party, therefore focused its activities on solving numerous economic and social challenges because we are aware that democracy and decent the lives of our citizens are the key challenges we have to face as a country," Vujović said.
