The President of the Parliamentary Committee for Education, Science, Culture and Sports, Radule Novović (DPS), with his statement yesterday in the form of an appeal and warning addressed to Montenegrin educators, grossly violated several laws, reduced moral norms to the imperative of utilitarian political use, violated honor, dignity and the autonomy of the educational profession, unscrupulously attacked family values and the role of parents in the process of socialization, hominization and humanization of their children, announced the president of the Education Union, Krsto Vuković.
"The key motivation and a large part of the content of Novović's statement is the Law on Freedom of Religion, which in itself represents a flagrant violation of several laws, especially the General Law on Education (Article 6) which explicitly protects the autonomy of educational institutions and Article 99 which protects the autonomy In the said statement, among other things, Novović says: "I believe that professors and teachers are far-sighted enough that they can, as their conscience and profession dictate, debunk the manipulations they are exposed to for those they teach in life". insultingly bids on the abilities, conscience and professional ethics of teachers, gives a flagrant political assessment that the social reaction to the disputed law is actually manipulation and brutally asks teachers to convey this political attitude to children. Also, asking them to debunk "manipulation" to students because they are "exposed" to it he also diagnoses the children's consciousness with the additional claim that they are "confused". Positioning himself as an expert-analyst of the amount of confusion, supervisory above parents, students and teachers with the abuse of his official position quite paternalistically, he in the same manner asks teachers to instead of developing critical awareness to children, they actually explain religion daily politically and to protect them from, as he says, "politics cleverly hidden under the cloak of religion and stories about religion". Novović does not know, unfortunately, that any interpretation of religion and faith in the classroom that is outside the program content of subjects such as History, History of Religion, Sociology and Philosophy is also a violation of the law. In political exasperation, Novović even states that the coat of arms and the anthem of Montenegro are in every classroom. The coat of arms is mostly present and that is fine, but the anthem is not, and we ask that someone explain to him that classes do not start with the singing of the anthem as in North Korea, but with the words "good morning children, good morning professor" and we listen to the anthem when it is appropriate, during significant school celebrations," said Vuković.
In the Educational Community, as he pointed out, Novović's address is particularly condemned and hated because of Novović's words that "what we have today, we must guard with great care. Some would let us, let them (the children) take it".
"And we are asking for a public answer, who are those "some" Radula Novović. When you know everything, you probably know, Mr. People's Deputy, how you could most effectively explain it to children. Of course, on the condition that we go crazy because with common sense and professional ethics and human form- with our views, we would never say such things to each other at school, let alone to children whom parents send to us with human trust. The same parents whom you deeply offended in your political pamphlet because you erased their protective educational role, their love and care. And Novović, you scared you have created panic with your political diktat because they will be worried if some teachers, teachers and professors will try to apply your warning. Unfortunately, the proliferation of political employment in schools, nepotism and not infrequent mobbing (against which we have not heard you ever say a word ), give us the right to think that a part of educators will obediently follow you, but believe that a significant part of free intellectuals will not and that because of all of the above, you will be reported to the institutions of the same country that you enthusiastically talk about, because we also believe in Montenegro, a state of the rule of law, constitutional security, civil liberties, but from the heart honestly and in a more dignified way than yours," concluded Vuković.
