The rector of the Cetinje seminary, Gojko Perović, admitted in an interview to RTS, what we have been claiming from the beginning - that church protests are political, the Democratic Party of Socialists announced.
"He commented that many people participate in them motivated by some other reasons, which go beyond the Law on Freedom of Religion. Those "other motives", as we have already seen, are usually reduced to hatred of their own country and the desire to return it to the position that had before the restoration of independence," the DPS announced.
As they add in the announcement, the Metropolis has not yet used the legal procedure to challenge the Law.
"If only the Law was in question, there was a precise legal procedure by which a legal act is challenged, which, by the way, the Metropolis has not yet used. That is why not only is the claim that the Law is not the background of this protest unconvincing, but many people from the past speak very clearly about it vampirized quasi-analysts who remind us that "in addition to the West, there are other parts of the world", actually suggesting what the ultimate goal of these protests is," the DPS announced.
"When the rector of the Cetinje seminary says that the Church is not used to gathering people in such large numbers, we hope that this does not serve as an alibi in the event of a potential escalation of violence, which would not be the first time seen in these areas. Because if that happens, it will be the least important who was good at what," the DPS statement concluded.
