Amfilohije: Đukanović needed Russian money, Russia helped him become president

Metropolitan Amfilohije of Montenegrin-Primorje said today that the President of Montenegro, Milo Djukanovic, was not bothered by Russia when he got the state and became president.

The President of Montenegro, Milo Đukanović, yesterday accused Serbia and Russia of using the Serbian Orthodox Church (SPC) to undermine the Montenegrin pro-Western government, which wants membership in the European Union (EU), reports Reuters.

"Russia helped him to get a state, to be president, and at that time Russian money was in circulation," said Amfilohije near Nemanja's town in Podgorica.

Metropolitan Onufrije of Kiev led today's procession through the streets of Podgorica.
