The Prime Minister of Montenegro, Duško Marković, met, as part of the Alliance for Europe initiative, with representatives of the Dukljan Academy of Sciences and Arts (DANU), led by their president Sreten Perović.
Prime Minister Marković said that it is important to gather social, scientific and political potential around issues important to the process of European integration so that Montenegro is ready for the new content of the enlargement policy and makes a strong step towards full membership in the EU, the Government of Montenegro announced.
"We want to gather progressive forces through dialogue so that Montenegro can be a democratic and prosperous country in its full capacity," said Prime Minister Marković.
Representatives of DANU welcomed the initiative of the Alliance for Europe and the dialogue conducted within it. They emphasized the importance of preserving and strengthening the Montenegrin identity, the national being, as well as the Montenegrin language and culture.

The meeting also discussed the necessity of raising citizens' awareness of state continuity, and opinions were exchanged about the rule of law, which implies justice in general and individual legal acts. In addition to Prime Minister Marković, the meeting was attended on behalf of the Government by Minister of Science Sanja Damjanović and chief negotiator Aleksandar Drljević, and on behalf of DANU by Senate President Čedomir Bogićević, academics Zlatko Bulić and Goran Sekulović and writer Sreten Vujović.
