The Presidency of the Democratic Front (DF), the parliamentary club of the DF, together with Milan Knežević, will go to the Basic Court on Friday, February 23 at 10 a.m. in order to receive the invitation to serve the sentence together, the Presidency of the DF announced today.
The Presidency of the DF announced that today it considered the situation related to what they said was the escalation of the political crisis in Montenegro, which they claim was caused by the regime's intention to unconstitutionally and illegally place one of the leaders of the DF, Milan Knežević, in Spuška prison.

"Namely, the law stipulates that after the service of the summons, Milan Knežević has the right to appeal within three days, and the decision regarding whether he will use that right or not will be made by all of us together, just as we all defended our tent settlement together and the free zone. We will inform the public about the further political moves of the DF in time. What we have decided, together with my colleague Knežević, is that we will not write any requests to the Minister (of Justice - cf. Vijesti online) Pažin, because there are enough mechanisms to deal with this crisis can be resolved in accordance with the Constitution and the laws," the DF presidency said in a statement.
The announcement adds that the President of Montenegro, Filip Vujanović, freed the late Dragan Dudić Fric from serving his prison sentence, then activists of his party convicted of election abuses, and rescued from prison municipal officials convicted of abuse of official position and inflicting serious bodily injuries.
"He saved a customs officer convicted of accepting bribes from prison, pardoned a man convicted of reckless revenge murder, a police officer who was sentenced for torturing a detainee, and in the midst of the campaign - Stop violence against women and children - he pardoned a local businessman who broke his employee's nose. The public is also aware of all the details surrounding the release of the journalist Petar Komnenić, who was released by the competent state authorities from a final sentence to go to prison, after he announced that he would not personally write any petitions for clemency. Therefore, it is undeniable that Filip Vujanović and other state bodies used constitutional and legal mechanisms, although those individual cases did not have any risk to the peace and stability of the country, as this particular case undoubtedly does, because it is about an elected representative of the strongest opposition entity and a politically motivated procedure," they said from Presidency of the DF.
