Today, Ulcinj modestly and quietly marked the Municipality Day, the first Saturday of April, with a session of the collegium of the Assembly, which was attended by the President of the Municipality Ljoro Nrekić and his associates.
On the agenda of the session, there was only one item on the agenda - the celebration of the Day of the Municipality and keeping the spirit of the holiday alive.
The President of the SO Ilir Čapuni said that under normal circumstances, the Assembly would hold a ceremonial session in the presence of friends and guests from all over the world, summarize the previous year, and announce the most grateful and outstanding citizens...
"But today the circumstances are different. Civic responsibility obliges us to stay at home. We will have opportunities to celebrate, but before that we must emerge victorious and stronger in the fight against this disease", said Capuni, stating that "the symbolism of the day brings hope - one harvest ends, sowing begins, new season and new harvests begin".
He thanked the doctors, medical technicians and all health workers, who, as he pointed out, are on the front line in the fight against the coronavirus epidemic.
"Gratitude also to the volunteers who helped the elderly and infirm, and especially to those who sewed and distributed thousands of masks," said Capuni.
He also thanked the businessmen of the city, the NGO sector, journalists and the media, the workers of the Municipal Police, the Police Directorate, the workers of the Municipal Enterprise and educators.
He emphasized that the president of the municipality and the executive authority deserve a compliment for their commitment, as well as the councilors for donating the councilor's allowance to the National Coordinating Body for Infectious Diseases.
"A gesture that deserves applause is the production of 50 protective masks for medical workers by our councilor Ardijan Mavrić, who also announced the production of prototype respirators for hospitals," said Capuni.
Congratulations on the occasion of the Day of the Municipality were also sent by Nrekić, who called on citizens to follow the guidelines of the NKT and the Municipal Team for Protection and Rescue.
