The president of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) Councilors' Club in the Prijestonica Assembly, Nikola Đurašković, left today the Working Group for Support to the Citizens and Economy of Cetinje due to the coronavirus epidemic, because consideration of that party's proposal was rejected.
Đurašković said that the coalition of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) and the Social Democrats (SD) refused to consider the SDP's proposal to divert part of the funds, which follow Cetinje on the basis of the Law on the Capital, to support citizens and the economy, instead of capital projects, in order to facilitate overcame the negative effects of the coronavirus.
"That was our key request in this working group. "By refusing to submit an initiative to the government to redirect part of the money to help citizens, the Cetinje DPS-SD government has fully taken responsibility for the social situation in Cetinje," Đurašković said in a statement.
He believes that this proposal would save jobs in the city and help businessmen and citizens in a state of social need, which, he claims, is a much higher priority than the construction of certain buildings for which no plans have been made, nor will these funds be used at all. this year.
"In addition, the SDP submitted a series of proposals to support the population and the economy, convinced that in this way, through the work of the local administration and public companies of which Cetinje is the founder, it would contribute to solving the difficult economic and social situation," said Đurašković.
He announced that the SDP will once again, with the help of colleagues from the opposition, seek support for scheduling a local parliament with only one point that would refer to amendments to the Law on the Capital City.
"Through this, we will give a chance for reason to prevail, and not petty political trickery, to the detriment of the interests of all our fellow citizens and businessmen. We are convinced that the only real support for citizens is the redirection of money from the Capital Law, everything else is far from enough", concluded Đurašković.
